It would be good to give much thought, before
you try to find words for something so lost,
for those long childhood afternoons you knew
that vanished so completely – and why?
We’e still reminded – sometimes by a rain,
but we can no longer say what it means;
life was never again so filled with meeting,
with reunion and with passing on
as back then, when nothing happened to us
except what happens to things and creatures:
we lived their world as something human,
and became filled to the brim with figures.
And became as lonely as a shepherd
and as overburdened by vast distances,
and summoned and stirred as from far away,
and slowly, like a long new thread,
introduced into that picture sequence
where now having to go on bewilders us.
~ Rainer Maria Rilke

I am almost speechless...superb images - all of them!
ReplyDeleteHow exquisite… thank you for this.
ReplyDeleteWonderful moody captures! It would have been great to put your own experiences here:):)
ReplyDeleteOutstanding photos! I love the lighting and silhouettes!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting serie, with those silhouettes on the beach... I love the colors, in blue tones like that, very smooth.
ReplyDeleteDramatic view.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos with the sky reflected. Love the last one.
ReplyDeleteWow, the sky, the light, everything about these is magical

For some reason, it a joy to see that other bloggers are just as appreciative of your photos as I always am. I don't know how long I have been a fan of your blog, but I do know you have enriched my life and I am grateful.
ReplyDeleteAwesomwe scenery... all photos are gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteStunning shots! Very moody. The sky and reflections on the water really draw one in...
ReplyDeleteI love the art of the photos, but also the subjects--seems to be father and child. I was surprised to see Rilke as the author of those lines. I thought his childhood was rather traumatic, but I haven't read about it for years, might have him mixed up with somebody else.
ReplyDeleteThe words go perfectly with your amazing photographs. Even without the quote, the feelings still exude from the moments captured in your photos. You are so talented...
ReplyDeletekind of reminds me of a Rothko paint. The way the Horizon seems to be divided in equal parts.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhhhhhh, such a wonderment!! The images tell us a story. The title of your post makes us all reflect on our youth!!!
ReplyDeletePERFECT
I've exhausted the stock of words in my lexicon to describe my feelings for the art and the artist . . .
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful is the poem that runs through the breadth of these photographs, beautiful post and pictures.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
