  1. Oh! I am so happy that you are back, Stickup. And with such dignity. These photos are magnificent. They demonstrate to us, I think, what having a culture looks like. Is reading a 'tweet' from from this or that celebrity (written by a ghastly ghost writer) really culture? Is it essence or a simulacrum of essence?

  7. A good portrait reveals something about the person beyond a superficial impression, portraying the person with meaning and depth. A great portrait gives us an idea of who the person is . . . these are great portraits.
