There is an ambiguous nostalgia in this image....like an old linen post card of some time ago....it is soulful, like going home, going back to where it all started.
What strikes me about this is the pier's timelessness. It could have been taken yesterday, or two hundred years ago. The sky, oddly enough, seems to be constant through the ages. I think we should take comfort in this. Or should it horrify us?
Those condos in the background are interesting in that they're not offensive to me. At least in the context of this photo (if that makes sense). I like that scratchy filter your using. Like printing off an old negative.
I wish I could be walking along that beach right now. This is wonderful!

ReplyDeleteWow - how gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful impression, that, I'm sure, was deliberately intended to provoke a wistful remembrance of a day long ago.

ReplyDeleteYou can almost see where I live in this photo. Almost...
I Like the grainy, nostalgic feel to the whole image and the golden glow of the horizon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous "painting"! Love the pastel colours.
