Summertime Blues

  1. That's a difficult search. Have you considered San Pedro? You'd be surprised how interesting that area is. The gritty Laguna. Find West Paseo Del Mar near South Meyer St. and descend to the beach to get a feel for the place.

  2. Wonderful photo. I think a lot about what it must be like to be a 'coastal' person. To have that as one's way of life...I always feel somewhat envious of that. Good luck in your venture to get closer to the edge!!!

  3. If I were any closer to the coast, I'd require breathing apparatus.

So go for it. You won't regret it (except for the salt corroding your electrical appliances and camera equipment).

  5. Good luck with your search. I think it's be great to live near the ocean if the beaches aren't too crowded. But I've heard horror stories about your prices in SoCal. Maybe PA's tip will pan out. Your photo shows what the water does to the color and texture of the air. Nice.

  7. I hope you find what you are looking for. Where you took this great photo is a nice place to live. A lot of people think that it has the best climate in the world.

I can't quite see the ocean from where I live, but I like knowing that it's close. This is odd, because I'm always drawn to the desert.

  8. Well that's an exciting and worthwhile search! And, judging from this picture alone, so many good photo opps. to be had. I feel refreshed and invigorated just looking at it. Happy hunting!

  9. . . . been busy, myself. By now you may have already found a place. If not, I wish you a triumphant quest. Perhaps, one day I'll visit you at your new abode. The little girl in the photo is adorable.
