    But bring dogs to the beach, at a crepuscular (roxana loves that word) hour, and their hearts will beat fast, fast, fast—and you’ll know it because they will eventually wind up at your feet (when every avenue of pleasure has been properly exhausted).

  16. I can't imagine getting tired of sunsets and sunrises--or dogs. I agree with Stewart--as dramatic as the sky and water are, the human and the dogs are the key to the picture. I suppose that's anthrocentric, but guess what--I'm an anthro. I bet dogs are dog-o-centric! I bet cactus is cactus-o-centric. Surely there's a Ph.D. dissertation on that somewhere?
