  1. These are not merely deserts, plants, mountains and flowers when seen through your lens--they are sheer enchantment and exquisite beauty. Poetic visions.

  6. You must have known you had something when you took the first shot: it is marvelous. It is real and unreal all at the same moment, which is far more difficult to achieve than that costless and curious ability we have of swallowing up sun and earth simultaneously.

  7. This combination is truly beautiful. I keep scrolling up and down for the impact of colors. You bring the west alive. So glad to have discovered your blog. You understand beauty

  8. Each photo is unique. The gold and black in the first photo puzzles me but intrigues me.

The wildflowers beckon I tell you. I do so love to see photos that remind me of where I grew up.

  9. If you switch #2 and #3, they'd be in the order of my favorites. The color saturation in 1 and 3, plus the fact that it's kind of an unusual mustard-y color, plus the pattern of shapes (the swoop in 1 and the sort of rambling assault in 3)--all that strikes me as unusual, in a good, powerful way. I usually like landscapes, so your 2 and 4 are also nice for me, but your 1 and 3 are something more--really strong, Stickup. Nice.

Thanks for your latest visit and perceptive (as usual) comment. You and PA have really hit on something, I think. I hope I can and do take time to respond in full before too long.

Nice to have found you, Stickup!

  10. Everything is beautiful in this post, everything is delicately composed , each single grain of sand ,each leaf of plants, the golden textures are rich and warm ...
The first one is incredibly beautiful, I love the play between light and shadows, it's a pure delight.
A great moment of poetry and softness. Bravo is very successful! :)♥

  11. Oh, what lusciousness! That first image totally took my breath away, Stickup. I did not want to scroll away from it, but was engaged in the words and wanted to see what came next. (Do not know that song, and am a bit confused...are the words taken from Rushdie's novel by that name?)
The antique look of the close up image is wondrous.

Your love affair with the desert went epic with this post, you artist, you.

  13. As always I'm simply awed by your ability to compose and frame the elements of each visual image to create a mood.
