The image to me, provokes a meditation. I got a chill as I looked at this, as though standing in that moment. It was as though I was very small, brief, and solitary in the face of the large and endless mystery all around.
i suppose that --there is no there there-- referred to a house and not California's rapturous landscapes (and the moon isn't shy to lend support to this view).
