Breeze

Exhilaration is the Breeze
That lifts us from the Ground
And leaves us in another place
Whose statement is not found—

Returns us not, but after time
We soberly descend
A little newer for the term
Upon Enchanted Ground—

~ Exhilaration is the Breeze by Emily Dickinson

  1. A wonderful image of the simple beauty that is around us when we take time to look. Exhilaration can come from even a lowly dandelion. Ask any poet, or any child, they will tell you that.

  4. I think we're gonna have to find a way to bottle some of your creations, because like the best wine, you just keep getting better and better with time... And we're going to want to keep savouring them for years to come ! With exhilaration...

  7. One of my favorite poems of Ms Dickinson . . . the color and composition of your images always lift me and leave me wanting more.

    The exhilaration I feel is you . . .

  8. This point of view makes me want to be a grasshopper, or a cricket, or an ant. To wander about close to the earth in a lush forest of wild grasses. I would not like to come back as a 13 year locust, though...those guys are too radical for me!

  11. Like a new love that picks you up, takes you saling on a breeze, eventually to let you down on firmer ground but still enchanted... I liie to imagine Emily Dickinson walking through this glorious alfalfa field in hues of blue and teal, exhilarated in private thoughts of love.

  12. Your photo tells the story and your title confirms it. This is truly fine art!

We spent a couple of nights in Cape May. The weather was mild but cloudy and there was hardly anyone there. It was wonderfully peaceful.
It was our first time to see the Atlantic Ocean(except from an airplane). While I was walking on the Wildwood boardwalk I was imagining how fun it would be for kids during the summer, especially at night.

i'll try to dig it up for you - which i wanted to post with the lines of another woman poet, what a coincidence, H.D. in my case - i don't know why it never came to that...
