I love this piece more than I can say. It is gorgeous and resonates in every way possible for me this season. My precious Standard Poodle was 13-1/2 years old and doing great and suddenly was afflicted with liver disease in November. I read in the paper that a local church was having a "Blue Christmas non-traditional holiday service for the lonely, sad, depressed..." a few weekends ago and, although I am not a church-goer, it seemed right. They did a beautiful job (a guy even played Blue Christmas on guitar), with candles for people to light, and a basket of blue ornaments at the back of the room for each participant to take home. My dog died on Friday, assisted gently by her vet, and I have her ashes home in an urn. It is indeed a blue Christmas here, a quiet and contemplative one. Your beautiful photograph increases the depth of everything I am feeling. And I am most grateful to you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.
I've always liked the song, but I might like your photo even more. In both the song and the picture, the sadness is made bearable by the beauty--mainly the light and the perfect composition in the pic.
I had a blue Christmas too, but a cold wave is hitting us and the new year will start with temperatures near 0ÂșC at night in the Lisbon area, which is too much for us! :-) All the best in 2015. And, of course, I love this shot!
Great lyrics and an AMAZING photo! It is so pleasing to the eye. I could look at this for a long time, because it makes me feel good and it makes me feel mellow. You are an artist, my friend!
Hope your holidays were good and that we all have a great new year...
Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteA stunning evening image. Love the mood you captured, from the blue tones to the atmosphere on the beach. Truly magnificent.

ReplyDeleteMy Christmas was mostly green, but I prefer your version.
