The Sanctuary Adventist Church is commonly known today as the Kill Bill Wedding Chapel from Quentin Tarantino’s movie — Kill Bill. In the film, the chapel represents the El Paso, Texas Two Pines Wedding Chapel where the Deadly Viper Assassination Team (Vivica Fox, Lucy Liu, Daryl Hannah, Michael Madsen, and David Carradine) attempt to kill The Bride (Uma Thurman). It’s also the church where Father Des Spellacy (played by Robert DeNiro) was banished to in the movie True Confessions.
Absolutely fabulous shots! The light is simply gorgeous! Congratulations, this is a masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteFabulous picture with that lovely southwestern low sunset or sunrise glow...and such an interesting history the place has!
ReplyDeleteA true revelation. And a vision. An atmosphere as warm and stirring as fresh blood.
ReplyDeleteSo often that mustard gold in the southwest is remarkable. Is it the building material, or the paint, or the quality of the light?
ReplyDeleteYou could not have picked a better time to take the photo. The light was perfect. As Dan said, "interesting history..."
ReplyDeleteNice to read the info on the church while drinking in the light and clarity of the photo. Good to be reading your blog again. My vacation was awesome.

ReplyDeleteA location scout could be forgiven for thinking that he has, prematurely, reached a place of paradisiac bliss.
ReplyDeleteThis place is on my list... Really good photo! I'm in the minority in my house on Kill Bill (both), but I loved them.
