  1. Very nice! I love salt water creatures...
Can you believe that this aquarium is in my home town and I've never been there?

  2. My eyes and my heart and my very spirit are beyond dazzled! Such colours, such creatures, such fine focus! Gorgeosity abounds. I feel like one of those cartoon characters whose eyeballs pop out of their heads when they see something they like. I am blinded by colour and lovin' it.

  5. Talk about nature's paintbrush! Wonderful photos! And it brings to mind how much we stand to lose -and are losing- of the amazing diversity, color, and complexity of the marine world. Our meddling about is a serious threat to all that. I better stop before this turns into a full page rant!

    Eager to see Part 2!!

  7. Blithesome anemone, your bouffanty hair-do thralls me jauntily and indulgently, and exhorts me later by dint of creamy color clouds to luminous tiptoeing discoveries, those available mainly to the distracted (these must be serendipitous offerings).

  8. These are astonishingly beautiful photos. I really would like to visit the islands of the south Pacific and Micronesia before their tropical reefs and marine life disappear and photograph the real thing.

  9. I don't know if I ever told you I'm a tropical fish hobbyist. Well, now you can imagine how much I enjoy this post, your shots are just fabulous!

  10. Gorgeous! And such a contrast to the high desert shots. Images #2 & #3 remind me of those kits I used to buy as a kid that had plastic bags full of pellety things that you dumped in water and watch grow into stuff like that in you photos. I love the colors, too, BTW.

  11. I knew we were ripe for some pretty fantastic aquatic scenes. You certainly don't disappoint. That starfish and jellyesque - daisy yellow sea urchin are so Alice in Wonderland. I'm with "The Pliers" on those underwater stalagmites.
I hope in part B you have a jellyfish; love the sea horse

  16. Color and drama! "Gorgeous" and "exciting" don't seem adequate as responses, but that's all I've got.

In the first photo, are you executing some technique, or is that texture just produced by the water?

They're all a pleasure. Thank you.

  17. Holy sea cows, oh most splendidly talented bat woman (but not batty) !

Is this possibly for real ?!? For a moment there I thought I must be hallucinating, the colors are so intense, the creatures so crazily wonderful.

Thanks for this mid winter vision of tropical seas ! It's done me a world of good tonight, may just head off to bed and dream about it...

(i also have some aquarium pictures taken last summer by the black sea, but i haven't yet got around to work on them. but now i suddenly feel like i have to! :-)
