Ode to My Neighborhood

  1. The house, with its gambrel roof is interesting. And on the last shot, is this another bridge to nowhere, or a tarmac for flying autos? : ) I like the seemingly endless road and the endless telephone poles.

  2. The house is great. Lots of things on it to study.

The last picture reminds me there are freeways with on/off ramps everywhere and I forget about that now. We live in the land of country roads and a few highways.

How are you doing? I hope things have been sorted out so life is kind to you.

  3. Your houses, cosseted by tutelary trees and honey-dipped fields, stand in sharp contrast to the harshness of endless roads buffeted by harried open space.

  7. Whoa, that looks kinda dry. In a good way, though. Good textures and colours. I don't know what it is about your pictures but they always strike me as being ELECTRIC! So many contrasts in this little series, within each picture, and between the content of each photo. Thanks for your neighbourhood glimpse. I love snooping...er...I mean, exploring other blogger's physical domains.

  9. An ode composed of very sweet stickup music... I think anywhere on earth would be made entirely beautiful when seen through your lens. The only thing missing is a donkey or two in the field... :-)

  10. All house shots are lovely and so different among them. The feeling of vastness in the bottom photos is fantastic.

  11. Wonderful shots! I love the house in the top two shots and for some reason the next house reminds me of the house my mother lives in now in Moreno Valley. The next picture reminds me of my childhood because it looks like the Santa Ana river trail which was just a few feet from where I grew up in Orange County.

I also want to mention how great the yellow flowers look!

  13. Very nice array, dear Stickup!

I am so glad that you managed to breathe new life into that fabulous old house that is testifyin' daily to the ground lost by the old properties of days gone by in a fantastic display of compositional virtuosity. Bravo!

And the freeway to fuckin' nowhere is divine...

  14. That first house is truly ...what..I cannot find the right praise for it.

Love how you shot the homes through the plants. And, honestly, that image of the freeway curve is breathtaking in its originality.
