These Fevered Days

These Fevered Days

These Fevered Days — to take them to the Forest
Where Waters cool around the mosses crawl —
And shade is all that devastates the stillness
Seems it sometimes this would be all —

  3. I second mythop... How ???

Where would we be without you ?

I can honestly say there are few things I enjoy more than looking forward to see what you are going share with us next. Sort of like sitting in a fine theatre, waiting for the curtains to open. Delicious moments of anticipation. And then the lights go down, and the show starts... pure magic. The butterflies are awesome. You must speak their language, to get them to pose like that...

  4. The composition in the first shot is quite amazing. As though you said to the butterflies, "Ok, you stand there, and you there..." It makes the eyes go round and round, in fact, I couldn't quite see straight until returning to gaze upon the periwinkle field of pearls.

  5. haha...upon viewing the comment I just posted I saw that Owen had already astutely commented as to the butterflies posing. I feel affirmed in knowing I am not alone in thinking that is an awesome picture.

  8. What did you pay the butterflies to pose for your photo? I haven't seen butterflies slow down much less sit still.

The colors in your photos are so rich. You are indeed a master photographer. Remember your humble blogger friends when you are one day famous. Truly.

  13. I'm glad everyone's clamouring around the butterflies as that allows me ro revel in the green peace (sorry about the pun) of that beautiful shaded area by the water, only emerging to warm myself with the brilliant hues of the hot flowers from time to time.

The butterfly photo reminds me of a day many years ago when I came across dozens of butterflies doing what appeared to be mating dances on the ground, quite unconcerned by the human presence peering down at them. A magical moment, much like your photos (the magic of them, I mean)

  14. What a set of photos! I'm in awe, I don't know what to say except that I feel like waking up far from any city and just have beautiful things like the ones in these shots in front of my eyes. Fantastic post!

  17. You couldn't find a better match than These Fevered Days and that inviting forest pond! Beautiful and deliciously cool. The macros are incredible. Those glittering orbs behind the butterflies! And the perfect clarity of the pink flowers in front with the soft, yellow ones in the back. Summer has now truly begun. xo

  19. Dear Stickup,
Just wanted to leave another little note here, was thinking of you today when I started reading the first chapter of Robert Louis Stevenson's "Travels With A Donkey in the Cévennes". I couldn't help but think of you and your donkey friend... If you haven't read it already, I can only strongly encourage you to find a copy... just in the first chapter there are a number of priceless sentences about his hypocritical obstinate ass who has to be goaded in the worst way to advance in their travels... pure pleasure !
