  1. Love this poem - a new one for me. William Stafford is from near my hometown in Kansas. I need to get some more of his works to read!

  2. Shooting the photo shoot...

Girl, you got cojones the size of bocce balls!

I love the poem and Rapt-like nature.

    Bravo!

  3. How sensual and exotic looking is the muse--"I am your own way of looking at things." "And I took her hand." What a deft description of meeting one's muse. You have to love Stafford. Did the photographer and the muse know you were there?! You could have made a great video!
There was a story of Sheri Martinelli: a muse to Anais Nin, Charlie Parker and his jazz circle, the Beats... I need one...

  5. Wonderful! Muses appear in my dreams sometimes, and yes, they are always women!

One of my favorite poems about a muse:

"Wild thing! You make my heart sing! You make everything, groovy!"

    : )

  7. Las fotos del fotografo serán muy buenas, pero las tuyas son magnificas. Los encuadres son fabulosos y el entorno muy acertado.
Felicidades por estas magnificas imagenes. Un abrazo!

  8. I love getting "behind the scenes" peeks; "the making ofs" exposés; the nitty gritty of rehearsals and blockings. I like the association you made with the nails, tacking image to words.

  9. How much softer the model's face becomes when the camera is not on her.
It must be the way the photographer wishes to capture a look, stern, moody, distant.

  10. I really like these photos! You could probably make a living doing shoots like this.

I'm really looking forward to this road trip!

I'm bringing my canon t1i to photograph as much as I can and edit later. I'm also bringing my pocket camera for blog post from the road. Something Sighted will be my photo blog and Newtown Area Photo will morph into Weekend Reflections.

  11. This gets into multi-dimensional muse inspiration magic, for she was inspiring him, the two of them inspired you, and now the three of you are inspiring us, if this keeps up it could form a chain reaction that could get out of hand...
    :-)
It took me a little while to get here, was out in the far western end of Brittany, looking for muse-ical magic in the form of forgotten fishing ships. Hope all is well on the west coast of a-merry-cow...

  12. I doubt the photographer's shots will be any better than these! :-) Great work.
Just curious: were you noticed by them?

  13. Great post. Such a compelling subject for the shots, and such a perfect written piece to accompany them.

  14. Surely a wonderful siren coming from the world of the sea ..: o) ..
The first is very well ... the photographer caught in a trap by the photographer ...:o)
a good series .. I like the choice of black and white ...
See you soon, dear friend, take care of you ....:o)

  15. I posted this poem at my blog awhile back and think it is one of Stafford's best (although I could never ever select a favorite from among his work).

What a marvelous monochromatic photo shoot! I really wonder what the other photographer saw, how he interpreted what he saw....
These are so very perfect for the poem.
