Ansel just sat up in his grave to take a good long hard look at these...Truly grandiose... I just had a few minutes to take a quick look around the blogosphere, and I stumble on this... this... this series of miraculous visions. What I really like here is the absence of traces of man. Just sheer natural beauty...Gotta go get my beauty sleep, but will be back to contemplate these at length, great length. Where did this magic happen ??? Pray tell...
Wow! These are amazing! The lanscapes are so beautiful and I never thought I would be so taken by a picture of a leaf. You are so talented and you amaze and inspire me.
the first picture is especially impressive!
Whenever I view your work I am imagining what it must have been like to actually be there in that moment. These are all evidence of the choices you make, and your way of experiencing. And, they convey well.
So dramatic! These are magnificent...
These are great, mysterious...How about next time b/w and colored next to each to compare?ps. watching tv........
The first three pics look like movie scenes. Eerie. Your black and white photos are so clean and clear, shadows and depths pronounced. Great pics.
What a wonderful series. i agree with Owen on Mr. Adams. You have captured light here surrounded by these hills beautifully.
I'm in awe! The sky shots are unbelievably beautiful... and biblical. Cecil B. de Mille would love to have you working with him in 'The 10 Commandments' for sure! :-)
Hey Owen, These shots were taken off Hwy 330 at the base of the San Bernardino Mts. in the San Bernardino National Forest right before hitting Running Springs. Hwy 330 will eventually climb to Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear. I am lucky to have such places close to home!
Certainly in walking into your blog one receives far more than what one seeks, or even knew one was seeking. Your work just awes me.
Your perception and response to the drama and splendor of what you see always leaves me a little envious.
Magic, magic, magic...love these shots and you are indeed lucky to have such wonders waiting nearby for you to capture for us all to enjoy! :-)
What an awesome talent you have, these photographs are truly magnificent.
Wow!!!Just darn amazing is what they are!I can't even decide which one I like best. It's either the first one or the leaf....
the leaf becoming one with the tree bark, with the earth, the cloud - stark and powerful, truly visionary work...
