Thoughts of Thanksgiving

Tomorrow we celebrate one of our biggest national holidays, Thanksgiving. So, in keeping with tradition, I'd like to extend my thanks to all of you for the friendship we've shared and the fun we've had through our blogs. It's been marvelous seeing the world through your words and images.

May you always walk in Beauty.

  5. Wonderful photos and sentiment. I actually like the 3rd one down best, simply because of the subtle color palette! I also like the prickly pear shot because of the shadows of the thorns. That itself begs a fiction "...In the Shadow of the Thorn!" Oooh! Have a wonderful holiday!

  6. Hi Stickup, and likewise to you, your blog is priceless, you share visions with us that transport us to higher realms of looking at life... it is always pure pleasure to come see what you've been up to. This year has been full of highlights at Living in the Wild West, truly a wild trip. And I won't even mention the fine view you gave us of your... errr.... your mule. That is forever etched in my memory. Here's to years to come of more similar photographic bliss in your company...

  8. So like the Native Americans to express gratitude in words and art... Can't believe your macros! Their clarity jumps! Especially the mallard with the soft foliage touching it. Best wishes to you for a Happpy Thanksgiving!

  12. The tree trunk composition is amazing! I simply love the 'cuts' between the green and brown in the background. Definitely my favourite. Happy Thanksginving.

  13. We walk in beauty with the thoughts we bring to our world, the appreciative eyes with which we view our surroundings, the tender heart that is touched by the bounteous gifts of nature. I can tell from your always gorgeous photographs, so rich in detail and colour and texture, that you are one who knows how to walk in beauty. Thank you for sharing your "visions" with us.

  15. "walk in beauty"... there is nothing more precious to me in this world - and perhaps it is not enough to make all the wrong doings of mankind good again, to soothe the suffering (i am thinking about Owen's Thanlsgiving-post as well) - yet... perhaps the poet is right, beauty is truth and truth is beauty - then this could be the answer to everything.

i am lost in these colours and the sheer joy of life your photos always bring us - so honoured to be your friend!

  16. Your blog was highly recommended by someone i know (know is the wrong word, but i have no better, alas.) We must share a similar climate, at least in some respects, since Opuntia cacti grow outside my window. Happy Thanksgiving.
