  1. Wow this images look surreal like from another planet, the colors are unique and the textures on the surface of these rocks makes me want to reach out and touch them, I can feel the rocks with my eyes, wow!

  2. Wonderful photos, Stickup. What an amazing place! Definitely one where a picture is worth a thousand words! And that Yucca standing proudly on that sloping rock like king of the mountain! Amazing!

  5. I agree with Semper Fi - surrealistics, difficult to say what's the size of the rock or are the greens big trees or just something small....wow!

  7. Oh these shapes and contours and textures and tones! Did you cover the whole area with crushed velvet before photographing? Well no, of course not--you would have used moiré satin for the black and whites. I love the b&W and colour pix equally. I keep wanting to close the little comment box here so that I can gaze some more upon those great shots but as my comments would not begin to be equal to the quality of the photography, I will simply end it here, mouth agape, eyes goggling.

  8. P.S. "By end it here" I mean my comment, not my existence on earth.

    I am speechless this time.

And like Lynne said, after seeing beauty like that, I could end it here...

(But won't, not just yet, anyway)

PS When your exposition is in Paris, please do invite me to the "vernissage" party... !

  16. Beautiful! The colour ones are my fave. I swear I see their faces. I think they are alive, they just move very slowly.

  19. Each of your photographic 'stories' has a character and soul all of its own. You do rural, nature, majesty just as well as urban, pop-culture and still life. These are so beautiful - what a place to visit!

  20. beyond words. hard to believe such a place exists. i feel the silence and strength of the rock in me. a world which makes our human world seems so insignificant and vain, a world teaching us so much.

  21. If it wasn't a perpetual heat wave this winter I'd like to return here and get some decent photos. I actually have made two trips previously but seem to get here just when the light has set.

I'm most attracted to the b & w with the tiny weeny silhouette of the yuccaa plant
